Two Cult 80′s Slashers Headed to DVD

Two bloody cult favorite horror movies from the 80′s are coming to dvd soon! You are toss your VHS’ and stop searching ebay for bootleg copies because Warner Bros promises heaven in 80′s slasher hell. Retroslashers reports that the Warner Archive Collection have confirmed they will release long sought after titles Killer Party and Night School to DVD in 2011.

Night School has a Boston police detective investigating a series of gruesome decapitations of various college coeds committed by a helmeted, black-leather clad serial killer which leads him to suspect a well known anthropology professor as well as his female live-in assistant. Killer Party is a 1986 campus-based goofy-spoofy comedy slasher written by Barny Cohen (Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter) and directed by William Fruet (Funeral Home). Killer Party has long been the favorite of these two movies but I gotta say, from what I can remember, Night School was pretty damn creepy as a kid. Love the decapitation scene!

Only bad news in all of this, the Warner Archive service uses DVD-R media to make titles available to consumers on-demand that were never cost-beneficial.for full DVD production. Still a professional DVD-R release is better than no release at all. Look for this titles around Halloween.

Special thanks to Jeffrey Lee for the heads up on this dvd release!

One Response to Two Cult 80′s Slashers Headed to DVD

  1. Both are decent films. KILLER PARTY is quite creative, but NIGHT SCHOOL I found to be very predictable. Maybe I’ve seen too many slasher movies.
