Tim’s Slasher Tweet Review: “Carnivore” (2000)

As you may know, We are starting a new feature here at Slasher Studios: tweet-by-tweet reviews. We bring you our another tweet-by-tweet movie review today from guest horror critic Tim Schilling. The idea behind the concept: We take a movie and give you a running commentary through twitter. After the film is done, we will post the review over here at Slasher Studios. Tonight we take a look at the low budget “Carnivore”…does it deliver the gory goods?

Thoughts before the film:
I’ve seen two movies so far out of this 8 packs, one terrible and one pretty good. Please be another good one?

While watching the film:
0:02 This movie was made in 2000 I believe, but so far it looks like it’s from the 70’s. Good or bad?
0:04 Gets stabbed by a needle that was supposed to knock out a monster, “this is bloody great”
0:05 And dies….
0:08 This movie likes the color blue. But it’s a little too much blue.
0:13 Over acting at its finest.
0:17 This is such a 70’s throwback.
0:18 I mean… The hair styles in this movie has been extinct for decades.
0:24 The creature reminds me of a troll doll…And whenever they show it, they play Tom & Jerry music.
0:29 Note: don’t overuse the blue filter. Cause the moon, it ain’t blue.
0:32 I’ll refer the creature as troll doll.
0:32 So the troll doll tried forever to get out of the house, just to go back in through the… chimney?
0:43 Am I watching porn or what? 2 whole minutes of titty suckin.
0:48 The troll doll sounds like an angry midget.
0:59 This house isn’t that big, and there’s nothing in it. Why can’t they find troll doll?!
1:04 “no fuck ups.” classy president.
1:05 Oh troll doll can speak English alright.
1:08 Are we in the middle ages now…? The soundtrack seems to think so.
1:11 The troll doll only attack people when they: a) are scared or b) having sex.

Overall:
I didn’t care for the weak story, no jumps or scares, but #Carnivore had a 70’s feel that I loved and a quarkiness that left it interesting.
