If you were a horror movie kid growing up in the late 80’s and early 90’s with cable, there was only one place to turn for horror delights: USA Network. With programs like Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Hitchhiker, Saturday Nightmare, and Up All Night, there was plenty of horror treats to go around. If there was one series USA Network loved more than any it was the Puppet Master series. Killer dolls, a beautiful score, and some awesome Full Moon goodness, “Puppet Master” was a step above the direct to video norm and USA took full advantage of it. Ahh..those were the days. Taking a look at the original “Puppet Master”, Tim Schilling is back with a brand new twitter review.
Thoughts before the film:
I have no idea why I want to watch this series so bad recently. It seems just absolutely ridiculous, but here we go!
Thoughts while watching:
0:03 Is this considered a slasher? I really don’t know much about these movies.
0:08 All this is doing so far is making me want to watch Pinocchio.
0:18 What the heck kinda doctors are these!?
0:22 Is there an actual story to this or is it just a bunch of random scenes?
0:34 This makes no sense. Like at all.
0:38 That puppet is pretty damn ugly.
0:48 For real this movie has a different story line every 5 minutes.
0:50 I love the puppets though. They’re so cool the way they move.
0:54 This puppet is puking up leaches. Okay what the heck.
1:00 Actually this is reminding me of and making me want to watch Small Soldiers. LOVE that movie.
1:02 Why do you make no sense, plot?
1:13 This scene is reminding me of Happy Birthday to Me.
1:17 These puppets are badass.
1:24 That ending was way too confusing. Like I didn’t have a hard enough time trying to follow the story!
Besides having almost no plot at all and ridiculously confusing, #Puppetmaster was still interesting to say the least. It’s a very weird movie, something you can’t really explain unless you show them the entire thing. The puppets were hilarious and awesome though.
