Adam Green holds nothing back in the beloved 2006 Hatchet as Victor Crowley chops and rips this couple to pieces! Blood sprays everywhere as Crowley’s latest victims endure some of the most painful of deaths. The effects within this clip add a great element to the deaths that Adam Green has perfected. Slasher Studios can’t wait for his next installment.

Extra Naughty “Santa’s Slay” Proves to Be Nice Christmas Slasher Surprise
It’s Christmas Eve 2005, the Mason family is enjoying Christmas dinner when a very large and very angry Santa Claus (wrestler Bill Goldberg) comes down the chimney and kills them all. A few of the death highlights include Santa stabbing someones hands to the table with steak knives, a sharp pole that impaled through a young woman’s head, a head set on fire and then drowned in eggnog, and a man pushed into a glass case. Sound like your kind of slasher? What if I said that the actors dying in this opening scene were none other than James Caan, Fran Drescher, Chris Kattan, and Rebecca Gayheart? Let’s just say that by the time Santa grabs a leg from the table and smashes into Drescher head as she pleads, “I’ve been good!”, the movie had officially won be over. The first five minutes of “Santa’s Slay” delivers more genuine laughs than most Hollywood comedies deliver in their entire running times. Does the rest of the movie live up to the potential of this incredible opening? Well, not really but I’m getting ahead of myself.
You see, Santa is ready to ride on his sleigh driven by his “hell-deer” (ho-ho), killing all of those who have been naughty all year round. After dismembering the Mason family, Santa sets his sights on Hell Township to kill the locals in various holiday-themed ways. In one of the film’s sleazier scenes, Santa kills the occupants of a local strip club frequented by Pastor Timmons (Dave Thomas, a better sport than he is actor). Later, in another rather tasteless scene, Santa murders the local Jewish deli owner Mr. Green (Saul Rubinek) using his own menorah.
Meanwhile, we meet teenager Nicholas Yuleson (a rather sweet and, for the ladies and gay men, quite easy-on-the-eyes Douglas Smith) living with his crazy grandfather (a hilarious Robert Culp in one of his last performances), a crackpot inventor who has created a bunker in their basement to survive Christmas. When Nicholas asks Grandpa why he hates Christmas, he is shown “The Book of Klaus”, which reveals the origins of Santa Claus. As it appears, Santa was the result of a virgin birth produced by Satan in much the same vain that Jesus was the product of God. Christmas was “The Day of Slaying” for Santa until, in 1005 AD, an angel defeated Santa in a curling match and sentenced Santa to deliver presents on Christmas for 1000 years. This means that Santa is free to kill again in 2005.
Believe me, “Santa’s Slay” is just as goofy as it sounds and just as fun too. You want a killer Santa murdering the naughty citizens while Robert Culp challenges Santa to one last game of hockey to decide who rules the world? Well, this is the movie for you. It has too much plot by half and not all of the jokes work but damn if this movie doesn’t work it’s ass off to do anything and everything for a laugh. I admire that in a low budget slasher. Even if the rest of the movie doesn’t live up to that terrific opening scene.
Slasher Studios Is Thankful For YOU!
Happy Thanksgiving horror fans! Hope everyone is spending the day with their closest family and friends while enjoying a great-bad slasher flick. Which brings us to the question, What are we thankful for this year at Slasher Studios? Maybe a better question would be, “What AREN’T we thankful for?” This has been one of the best years of my life. I have had the honor of meeting some awesome horror people in the last year. I could list names but the list would drone on and on and on…let’s just say, you know who you are. I’m thankful to be able to work with a group of people who love and cherish the horror genre as much as I do. I am thankful for the horror fans out there who have embraced us with open arms. Seeing the reception to TEDDY all over the world has brought a smile to my diabolical face. This has truly been the year to top all years when it comes to horror in my life. I thank all of you from the very bottom of my heart. I am a better person because YOU are in my life. Thank you!

Horror Posters Of The Week: “Night Of The Creeps” (1986)
This 1986 horror-comedy features brain infesting aliens that turn humans into flesh eating zombies.
This film was fortunate enough to have more than just one great poster. Each poster gives off it’s own unique feel and tone and they all show off some killer artwork. All three feature a zombie and two of them show off the tag line, “The good news is your date is here. The bad news is…he’s dead.”
Tom Atkins stars in Night Of The Creeps with his famous catch phrase, “Thrill me!”
Tim’s Horror Tweet Reviews: “Pot Zombies” (2005)
I think horror fans can all agree on one thing, it has been far too long since we’ve had a Tim’s Horror Twitter review. Well, we are back tonight with a brand new tweet by tweet horror review from the one and only Tim Schilling. He will be taking a look at “Pot Zombies.” I know nothing about this film besides the fact that it is probably about stoner zombies and it is probably awful. Am I wrong? Let’s dig in and find out for ourselves.
Thoughts before the film:
About to watch Pot Zombies… What am I getting myself into?
Thoughts while watching:
0:05 I think I’m getting a contact high.
0:09 Sorry we’re late… We’re uh high.
0:10 I keep on thinking my tv is frozen but then I realize half the shots are freeze frames…
0:13 The rock music they play just makes this even funnier.
0:14 LOL zombie blunts.
0:19 I’m laughing way too much at this pizza guy.
0:25 This should be called Acid Zombies instead. Seriously, these guys are on something more than pot.
0:27 Hippie shit!
0:37 Oh okay this is porn now.
0:50 Hhahaha a 6 year old pot zombie?
Final Verdict:
I don’t even know what to say about #PotZombies. You just need to see it. It’s something I actually recommend to watch, it’s hilarious

Blood & Breasts Make For Perfect Combination in “Girls Gone Dead”
Remember when horror movies were fun? Back in the 1980’s, all you needed was a masked killer, some somewhat attractive teens (saying “hot” may be a bit of an overstatement), and a couple of buckets of blood. Mix these ingredients in the cinematic slasher blender and out came a slasher flick worthy to show your friends. Today’s horror world is a different place. In the world of found footage horror, cheap just is never cheap enough. Why pay for a couple of gallons of blood when a door can slam shut several times for a “scary” effect? Yawn. This is not the horror that I grew up with and it is certainly not the horror that I am proud of today. Am I the only one who misses the classic era of slashers in which the filmmakers just wanted the audience to have a good time? Clearly, judging by tonight’s film, I am not. From directors Michael Hoffman Jr and Aaron T. Wells comes the delightfully entertaining “Girls Gone Dead.” If ever there was a cinematic valentine to the 80’s slasher, it is this film.
“Girls Gone Dead” starts off a little rough as we meet our main girl (A.K.A. the “pure” one) Rebecca (Katie Peterson who reminds me of a prettier and more talented Tara Reid) having a nightmare involving a sacrifice in a church. The girl who is to be sacrificed is not pure and must be killed to rid the world of evil. Thankfully, Rebecca wakes up from this nightmare to be confronted by her mother who is terrified that her weekend vacation with “the girls” will turn into an orgy of sin (shades of “Carrie” & “Slumber Party Massacre II” here). Of course her mother is right and Rebecca and the girls plan to drink as much as possible, get naked, and find some guys. What Rebecca and pals don’t know is someone has come along for the ride slashing each and every one of the girls, and the guys they meet along the way, until all the “evil” has been cleansed from the world.
This is the kind of film that many will either love or hate. The acting is a bit all over the map with many of the girls hired more for their ability to take over their tops than deliver their lines. The film is far too long at 102 minutes and it takes to take its sweet time getting to its final reveal. Also, speaking of final reveals, this has to be one of the most predictable whodunit slashers that I have seen in recent memory. If you don’t figure out the killer from the second this character walks on screen, you haven’t seen enough horror movies.
So, what works about this film? Everything else! We get some ooey gooey slasher deaths with more blood on screen than all of the Saw sequels combined. This killer is brutal. We are talking multiple decapitations, a cut off breast, multiple amputations, and that’s just in the first half of the movie! Thankfully most of the effects are practical so there is no obvious CGI to put a wet blanket on the gore. Though the CGI does rear its ugly head in the final death scene and the result is…not terrible, I guess.
Need more reasons to watch this slasher? How about cameos that include Jerry “The King†Lawler as a sheriff, Beetlejuice & Stockbroker Sal from “The Howard Stern Show”, Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, porn legend Ron Jeremy, and, in my favorite cameo, the “Queen of the B’s” Linnea Quigley as bartender Wild Willie. A blast from beginning to end, this is the kind of movie that just puts a smile on my face. Whether you rent it from the breasts, the blood, or maybe a combo of the two, you are sure to have a great time with “Girls Gone Dead.” Have fun with it, it looks like everyone who made it did!
Chris Moore’s “Perversion” Plays as Creepy, Unnerving, and Unconventional Horror
Chris Moore’s latest film, Perversion, sets the tone for a creepy and unnerving horror/thriller. Moore wears a number of hats on this project as he takes on crew positions as well as the main character of Ryan. His determination, dedication and passion for this film are unquestioned within this little indie flick.
Ryan is a traumatized teen who is forced to peruse answers to a brutal past. With a stirring performance from Moore, he is able to let all his emotions out on screen and transfer them to the audience. As the outright star of the film, he has a bright future in the acting industry. His ability to let lose and submerge himself into the character really shows as he plays a range of emotions. The phone call monologue is evidence enough that Moore wanted to hold nothing back and show off his acting chops.
With any low budget film, there are some problems. The pacing, at times, drags far too long. The running time could be cut down a bit to better engage the audience and still tell the story at hand. This is a problem that can be found in just about every labor of love project out there. The filmmaker will almost always feel that every scene that was shot, is also needed to tell the story. However, less is usually more and in the case of Perversion, this holds true. Cuts here and there will reduce a long run time and help keep the audience on their toes just a little bit more.
Nonetheless, there is a very strong story to be told here and the wonderful acting (especially lead Chris Moore who is quite brilliant) and interesting flairs of brilliance throughout make for an unforgettable independent film. Perversion has a few tricks up it’s sleeves as effects and editing are concerned. The special effects and blood effects and on point and Moore, who also edited the piece, did a fine job intertwining shots together and making great use of jump cuts. The ending, in particular, holds a few nice surprises.
Perversion is raw and entertaining and has a certain charm that only the low budget horror films can produce. With passion behind a project, there are always great things in store. Perversion is no exception and delivers a great performance and story from Moore. He is a horror filmmaker and actor to keep an eye out for.
